Sacair-owned Airsoft Field?
I'm just curious if Sacair has ever looked into purchasing its own land. There are a lot of members here... if everyone pitched in a fraction of what they have spent on their airsoft guns Sacair would have a permanent home. Thoughts?
"You're right... I am dangerous."
that would be freaking awesome. maybe the admins could "own" it and there could be donations at every game that is held there.
admirable thought, but it will never happen.
WHO would actually own it? Sacair is a virtual community, not an entity. WHO would be responsible in case of accidents and lawsuits? WHO would maintain the property? Who would pay the property taxes? Who would clean the area and remove the garbage and pay the utilities and .........
Hellion is on the money... it's the insurance and liability that would be killer.. plus we've always said we we're going to keep games free..
Great idea, but not practical...

There are places to play...what we need are more actual games.

What sacair has now is fine. We don't have to worry about paying every month for insurence, lawers, or to pay for the land. Unless it'll be a feild that would benifit us all, be useable year round and at any time....theres no point in having a "sacair-owned" field.

Recently I have been making plans to open all year airsoft center. I have been thinking of leasing a huge warehouse and creating indoor sets to play on. Hopefully sets that can be remodeled and changed over time to prevent boredom. Only problem is generating the revenue to pay for rent and insurance. Would anyone out there like to have a place indoors to play so that airsofting could be done all year, (and the catch), be willing to pay some kind of fee to play there all day?

plus not costing anything is one of the conviniences of sacair. start making people pay and the sacair population will depliet. People need money for guns and equipment anyways. sorry about my spelling.
and thats a bad thing why?

what do ya mean cp? Less people means less people at games.
more people is more fun. It might get rid of the younger ones. . . which would be good. No more flame wars. :)
more people is more fun if they know wtf they are doing. I dislike most of the peeps in the younger section of the community nowadays making things $$$ is one way to weed them out. A little thinning of the population is just what the doc ordered imo.
quality over quantity!!!

Well, Sac Air is great for free game si guess, but I'm thinking having a place indoors means that you could actually play when the weather is just plain shitty outside. I don't think AEGs and rain mix well...I haven't tried with mine though. I am fairly new to this but I love it. I've almost got people to fill every job needed for construction of sets, a website, and for counter sales/admissions. I really would like to have a few people help me test it If and When I go through with it. (people hopefully with lots of tactical experience) so that the sets will be challenging and fun. I think to weed out "youngins" Sperate events could be held i.e. orginization. Like peewee B-day party time and "adult swim" time. I think schedules will help a lot. Would a location like Rancho Cordova sound good?

So since Airsoft is still an "under ground" sport or hobby...whatever, it seems that the best way to get this moving would be to get more following. ummm spread the word? Do you think AEX or other companies would help out? It would benefit them as well as me. Would anyone also be up to helping me distribute advertisement/poll flyers? Maybe AEX would let me leave some there.

thanks steve. Yeah I have a large chunk of the business plan out of the way, lots more to come. I didn't post all my thoughts and ideas. because some other guy might get wise and get it done before I do. But all comments are welcome, thanks guys.

If its an indoor place you want to make, then check out Adventure Zone. It is the only place in Sac that has indoor airsoft. This may give you some ideas.
make it next door to centerfolds so we can "relax" after a game

oh Jesus! what a good point! good thing your here to save us!
I swear....ever since I played in Janurary during that heavy storm, and everyone was all worried about getting they're guns wet, I've been a advocate for playing in the rain. In fact I can't wait for it again, it adds so much realism to a game than you can't beleive.
everybody just give me the money and I will go to Cancun and do some research on some property in the Natomas area. I will need some advisors and a really hot secretary to take care of me uh I mean take notes. I will draw up a business plan after the conference and then need some more money to grease a few wheels in the community, after which I will need some more money to get bids for the complex. Then of course after all this I will file bankruptcy and then get a ghost writer to write my story into a best selling book on the whole ordeal.
