The M1 garrand was used in world war 2 the m14 wasn't used till nam. If your enlisted in the Army chances are you wont have much of a choice in weaponry. You'll be issued an M16A2 5.56 mm and an m9 bretta. If you do R.O.T.C and become an Army officer you pretty much have alot of say on what job you want in the Army. You should Do Army R.O.T.C.
