Aug 28, 2006 4:45am
Im considering buying a p90 rdv but i dont like the mini battery. I dotn know much about the p90's internals but is there a way to fit a Nunchuck in there or do something custom with a bit more life?

ya u got to get an extended butt plate, they arnt that expensive. P90s gearboxs ar elike any other TM gear box, dam well built. Very quiet guns if u build them right. Also VERY quiet stock.

o right right ive heard about the extended butt plates. im assuming they sell them most everywhere.

ya AEX sells emm i don think they cost a whole lot.

no, the but plates look ugly and extend the gun's length. Modify your motor retention plate via hacksaw and get one of these:

I think im gonna go with that battery pack, if i get it, which i really want to. thanks for pointing that out.

never cut the motor retention plate, that's allways a huge mistake people do on P90s and Augs.

remember: you need to hack off some of that plasic bulkhead behind the gearbox. Chop off the bottom, up to the bottom of the area where the spring guide is, enough to make that recession between the box and motor accessable.

alright, so im getting "cut the plastic behind the bulckhead", sounds simple enough. ANd then i am also getting "wtf dont do that". chase have you actually done this before? or anyone else?

yeah, done it before. I cut off more than was necessary, and nothing's happened over the last year. I dont want to argue a veteran and admin, but that's my personal experience.

Hold on a minute, there is another option,I posted it up a long time ago

I've never done it,
Aug 28, 2006 5:36am
I have done the mod as well.
Aug 28, 2006 5:37am
haha, figures another stargate junkie like myself would be into P90's. Thanks nightblade117. So it says no mods required, thats always good. So i see no advantage to the mod, andyone beg to differ?

That is the piece that holds the gearbox in place. It keeps it from sliding out.

why not just go for a li-poly battery. a lot smaller with a lot more charge.
The 4 rules of gun safety:

because li-polys are expensive, and you need a >$100 charger so they dont explode and burn your house down.

chase, there is reason Poision and Mini have been posting, they played this sport longer than you. Sure u may not have ill effects now but somtthing may happen. u may drop it or hit the gun (for whatever) reason in the rear and .that amount of force could snap already preworn out plastic. Or he may crack the butt plate when he attempts to mod it, and super glue isnt as strong. Just some thoughts, remeber when someone has been playing this sport for while and they give advice, take it. My .02 here is done.

yeah, and I acknowledged that an admin or veteran knows more than I, but if you need a new one, you could make one out of ABS sheet and glue and a drill.

ya ill figure something out, do research, could go either way. And its Ryan

There is no forseeable downside to cutting the plate.
Aug 29, 2006 2:45am
well the gear getting eaten up was from the user trying to adjust it thinking that was the causes of their troubles, but the gearbox wasnt pressing forward as firmly as it should have been because a crack in the afformentioned plastic plate, causing bad seal. so he kept fiddling with it, not knowing what was going on. (he didnt think the crack was suspect because he glued it) sorry for the misunderstanding.
