Real steel bushmaster question
well my dad has a gun lisence and he wants to get an AR-15. and we were looking at bushmaster upper and lower receivers. and moreover the .22LR upper receiver, it says that its 100% compatable with an Ar-15 lower. does anyone have experiance with this? if so is it worth it? were not going to be doing any varmint plinking or anything of that sort so we dont realy have a use for .223 and .22lr is much cheaper. any input on this?
What does a gun license have to do with possessing an Ar-15 clone? Unless he has an FFL, or a military/LEO letter approving to possess full duty "assault weapons", he doesn't require one.
MA gun laws difer from CA gun laws. if you have a FID you can posess a rifle with up to 10 rounds. and were researching all of the laws at this time. we just wanted input on that specific upper receiver. and of course if it doesent work out well prolly just end up getting annother shotgun for some trap shootin
Well then... you're better asking someone else from a webpage that specifically deals with AR15s... such as www.ar15.com...
would also be good ask someone who lives in your state too.

If you guys just want to shoot 22lr, why not just get a 10/22 for a fraction of the cost of an AR?
Ray's got the MOVES!
I have a Wilson conversion kit for my 1911. (.45 to .22 for those who don't know) and I understand why you want the conversion kit for the AR. It's nice to practice with your weapon--the weapon you plan on using.

What does his state have to do with it? He is just asking about the .22 conversion?
You just got killed by a Daewoo Lanos...How You like me now?
ok thank you thats what i wanted to know :) but sadly this has been put off for awhile (probably another year) because of car payments ect.
his state may (mostly likely not) have laws regarding conversions, ar series/assault weapon look-alikes and such that might have a bearing on what he wants. Or perhaps they require a different license. Who knows.

Simunitions? With the clear mag and blue barrel?

there are definate pros and cons to simunitions. Cost definately being a con.

Simunitions it is, and yes I bet cost would be a serious factor for civilians. But, just imagine how much better reenactments would be if the reenactors all used simutions instead of blanks. No need for refs, and at 500+fps they'd be pretty good for most scenarios.

But damn would they hurt!
