Multicam help

Sep 6, 2006 1:50am
I was thinking of buying some multicam I saw off of Cryeindustries.com the stuff is pretty freakin cheap though, like 120 for a feild jacket. Is this stuff good though? Crye material?

Crye could be considered the best. Youre calling a $120 BDU top cheap?
Sep 6, 2006 1:58am
crye is the original designer and manufacturer of multicam. And you must be on something or have no concept of the value of a dollar. $120 USD is pretty steep for what is nothing more than a BDU top. Any multicam material you buy from the US or if it's made in the US will be genuine Crye material. Only place that's susceptible is the Chinese knockoffs.

Yeah , good luck , unless you have a nice debt amount like me , i am out so much on my multicam

Actrually the Crye field jacket is a bit more intricate than standard issue ACU's or MARPAT's. Their combat pants are probably one the most thought out designs, as is their combat shirt. Though Crye has a lot of thinking over to do with their QC department as I wasn't impressed with the 3 pairs of field pants I've returned due to substandard stitching.

alright I meant CryePrecision yeah. I would get the Woodland and Desert stuff but Multicam isnt only color, thats the only one Id need, while it may cost much more, Im still not sure if im buying, but I like it more. And on the price, most multicams on other sites are between 140 and 200. So this is quality stuff for 90 bucks actually. I think its good, Im just saying its nothing rigtht now cause I made like 700 bucks

search like any other multicam site that was selling decent multicam, the ones I saw were all over 120, highest was 220. It wasnt even that good.

I just go to surplus stores and buy camo for a lot cheaper
Sep 6, 2006 3:32am
Surplus stores won't carry MCUs... They are expensive for a reason.

You can try SKD tactical. It's Crye Material in the RAID BDU configuration (as opposed to the ACU setup used by Crye). Basically they buy the material from Crye and then sew it themselves. You can get a top and bottom for $79 and $77 respectively.

im talking about basic woodland or desert camo, i got both pairs from a surplus store for probably $60 a pair

your math and logic are still way off.

anything made in the US or by a US born retailer uses can only use genuine Crye fabric. They hold both a patent and copyright on the pattern. The chinese knockoffs are 100% ripoffs with zero affiliation to Crye Precission.

Go to the Tin Soldier off vernon st, in old Roseville. They have new and used stuff for decent prices. Sometimes you can talk the guys down too.

wait wait... $120 for a field shirt? They're only $95 from crye plus like $8 shipping! I just ordered a knockoff set from HK for $70 shipped... made from 50/50. Only thing i'm worried about is the stich quality but we'll see next week

He is probley looking at the heavy jackets and smocks

Go for Chinese ver. I got one... excellent quality, 1:1 US made.
Sep 6, 2006 5:19am
2 things I'd be worried about the chinese stuff is fading from quality of dye and sewmanship (stitching). The one thing that the real crye will have over the knockoffs 100% is in terms of IR reflection.

skdtac.com is a great site. I got my weesatch from there. Bijar, you will like it, it feels great, and is very high quality. And of course it is crye material. Other good sites are icetactical.com, and multicamproductions.com. I have the multicam productions BDU's, and the stitching is excellent, and %100 crye material. I have done some serious crawling in the dirt, etc, and it still looks great and is holding up just fine. I also hear good things about the ice stuff.

If you are good at bidding and know how to buy items, without getting screwed ( Ican help you with this, BTW), E-BAY is still a great source for hard-to-find multicam items (including HSGI, Tactical Tailor, ESTAC, DBTactical and some others...some also from Canada..Canadian CCU's are what they call it up there).

Bijar (our new comrade who's joined our team, recently), just purchsed his first set of multicam gear with my help and is doing a fine job with the team requirements. Well done, my friend.

i've got one of those Multicam drops from SAG and i love it (tho if you don't use the thumb break or the retention strap it doesn't hold your gun too well if you run :( ). Its pricy but i think it was worth it and sexy as hell

You poor kids and your multicam.......
