Suggested M14 Upgrades
I'm contemplating upgrading my TM M14 and know nothing of internals. It's set externally as a DM/ M21 depending on the optic on it, so I was thinking of bringing it up to around the 400ish fps range.
If you want longevity and reliability... then I suggest you DO NOT upgrade your gun.
upgrade it with newspaper rubber bands...
Thanks Hellion for your opinion.
Actually, I'm reminded of a SAW that snoopy was selling awhile back, something about putting 100k rounds through it, with him holding down the trigger and emptying the box mag in 1 long burst. Plus a type of warranty where if anything broke before another 100k rounds went through it he would replace the part at his expense.
sorry tommy....i'm retired :)
It's all good Snoopy, I understand. I didn't mean to ask you to work on the gun itself, but just a recommended parts list from any experience? This goes out to anyone with experience.

If you're set on 400fps and you're wiling to shell out enough money, Prometheus gears are pretty awesome. Should get some new bushings, a deepfire piston, either are piston head or spring guide with bearings, and of course, an upgraded spring. Of course if you want to go all out, you could also splurge on a boreup cylinder, air nozzle, etc. I would definitely suggest prometheus for most parts as they have excellent quality control and are highly reputable.

OK, I've done a quick look around the boards and came up with a preliminary parts list: [i]
I see quite a few replacement parts. Air nozzle and tappet plate? Not needed. The stock TM piston and piston head are great in my opinion.

Thanks Andrew. If I brought all these parts in to AEX, how much do you think it would cost to install?
For the most part, I would go all promethius v7 parts, KM barrel and cylinder.
The promethius tb will get you the extra fps over the KM tb but the range and accuracy are way below the KM's range and accuracy.
