has any one had any expeirence with the newest mp5 from ICS, the v 3.5 airsoft elit one, i have read some good reviews about it but i thought i would ask around here, oh and how would you compare it to the CA and TM models. and please specify whether it was the A5 or A4 version, im not looking for one at the moment but for a christmas present or something

i had an airsoft elite 3.5 ics mp5a4. before i bought it, i heard that they were really fragile, so i babied it and cleaned it often and treated it really well. still one of my best guns i've ever had, but my friend bought the same exact gun and it was broken within a month. gearbox issues. so, i think its sort of a hit and miss. overall, i'd say its probably not the best starter gun cuz it probably needs a lot of work, but if youre comfortable with working with gear boxes and the like, then i think its a good gun for the price. also, the metal body isn't the best quality, but it does give it that extra heft that a tm lacks. i had mine for nearly two and a half years and had nothing but good experiences with it, but i've also heard some horror stories about ics. just make sure you are getting what you want, and dont let people rag on you too much here.
A 7.62mm, 178 grain bullet travels at a velocity of 2600 fps and has 2,520 foot-pounds of kinetic energy, which is enough to penetrate through 9 soft-target personnel...

i'd still say to go with the tm. Just my opinion. . . you know it will be reliable, plus you'll have the snipe for long range and this for short range, you dont really need high fps for cqb.

Oh ICS....  Someone put "ICS means gun repair expierence" and that is exactly the truth. Because I was young and new to the world once, I bought an ICS (I can tell you that was a mistake). While they are fun for about the first year, once it breaks down good luck getting it back up. The only reason I can work on a V.2 gearbox is because I owned an ICS. It started out with the piston, bought a new one, and upgraded several other parts, done by AEX (this was back when Chris I believe worked there). It broke down a couple weeks late (took it back to AEX). About a week after that, guesswhat it did again. I realized paying AEX $30 everytime this breaks down is going to make me poor. Long story short, I sold it off (but not before dumping a load of money into getting it in running shape again).

Hah it's crazy how people take talkin smack on a toy gun so personal, You'd swear I was cussin' his mum.

Ah, the alure for the metal body is strong, but do not be tempted to the dark side, young one....

well poison you seemed very assholish when you said it, so thats why i said what i said, and if you read my post i stated that it doesnt have to be an ICS because you guys said it sucked, and will now get a CA instead most likely, but not an ICS, it was just a simple question and you turned it into "well hes not going to listen so why did he post any way" and you thought thta because i said i wanted a metal body, there is nothing wrong with getting a CA but ive read that the CA's had problems and stuff so i wasnt sure about them either

well yes, they dont perform well unless you fix a few things,

i strongly suggest you get a TM. And if you don't like the ABS then get a metal body.

I hate to ruin the atmosphere, but I reccomend AE over TM in this case.
