steel flash hider
Can anyone tell me how to remove the orange tip and put on the steel flash hider on a Tokyo Marui M14? I just got it today, and it has an orange cap, apparently you can or are supposed to remove this and put on the real steel flash hider, how is this done? Thanks!

take a wrench and twist it the OPPOSITE way you would a jar of pickles , it is japaneese so it is backwards , the take the flashhider and slip it on over the threads , then that little piece that looks like a ROOK from chess , goes on with the little chip thingys facing up , screw it on , and you are ready to go.
wait so do I need like anything else besides the actual flash hider? Cuz all else I have is that red cap thingy that I think you place over it. Otherwise it didnt come with anything else I dont think. What else do I need or is that it?

I still dont get it, I sort of get the removal, bayonet attachment area, remove that whole section...kind of, but I dont want to hurt my gun as its brand new and that would piss me off. I really think it looks cool and I want the front sight. Please give details.

1. buy some jasco's paint remover. smells bad, burns you hands be careful.
no I dont want to get rid of the orange tip's orange. I want to put on this steel flash hider that comes with the gun, it has a front sight attached to it and I need to know how to remove the orange tip and put this on. I'm getting mixed answers so I dont want to screw up my gun. I want a for-sure, know what they are talking bout answer. In detail.

that would work if the flashhider was painted orange and not a plastic orange flashhider.

Tokyo Marui M14, got it AEX in Citrus Heights, I am pretty sure it is superglued on, however, it came with a steel flash hider with a front scope attached to it, in all the pictures this is on, not the orange cap, how do I remove the orange cap and put this on?

nobody knows how to do it..?

you need to clairfy your current situation. once people know what their dealing with they will know what to do.
No offence dude but if you cant figure out how to look at something, realize its screwed on, and that theres a set screw holding it in place you have no business trying to remove it.
In close range combat, an unsuspecting melon will get the back of its melon blown off.
Id rather not live on the edge when ive had the gun for 1 day, I am out of money, im 14 and cant make any more money for a while, Im not gonna live on the edge and risk screwing my new gun, thats why im looking so carefully for a definitive answer. As for the flaming, dude there is no freaking screw that needs to be unscrewed to take off the orange cap that comes with like every airsoft gun, maybe some, but this one is superglued on and I was figuring some people knew safe ways as to removing a superglued orange cap from a Tokyo Marui M14 that came from AEX in Citrus Heights, and putting on the steel flash hider in place of it that is black wich also is the front sight. In like every picture you see this on, but the gun comes with an orange cap, I want the frontal sight and the cooler looking flash hider, I've gotten completely mixed results and I dont want to ruin my gun after first day, I couldn't get another for a long time!

removethe tiny allen screw on the underside of the front sight post. unscrew the whole front off. screww the new front on. put the tiny allen screw back in. if you dont know how to work a allen key then maybe you shouldnt own an airsoft gun.
whatever, but where is the allen screw? Maybe im seeing it, is it by the bayonet attachment thing? Or what because you said the "front sight post" but the front sight is on the flash hider! Im confused, so I remove an allen screw but either way how will removing the front get a superglued orange safety cap off and a steel black one on?

heres the front sight post and the flashider
I might be too inconmpetent because the front orange cap does not have a front sight, nowhere on the front of the gun is there a front sight. The front sight is on the steel flash hider, so I guess I remove allen screw under here and the stuff should come on then I screw on steel flash hider that has the front sight?

I just looked and there is no allen screw. There is a long barrell and at the end is the orange safety tip, underneath it, and much shoter is where I guess you can put on a bayonet, thats it. The orange tip is superglued on but the gun came with the steel flash hider with horizontal slots and a front sight that you can attach. How do I do it?

FFS! He got it at AEX, so it has the orange plastic birdcage flash hider on it. The normal unpainted flash hider with front sight is included as well.

uhh when I took off the purple tape that held the steel flash hider together, a small part fell out that is underneath the front sight, what do I now? You seem to know sasquatch.

hey Saquatch when you see this, just letting you know, we got the thing on, we tightened it, and everything, its perfectly straight and its super tight, but I'm still not sure if we got it right tho, that peice that falls out, we held it in as we put it on, and thats what we used to hand-tighten it on, the wobble we tightened with the allen wrench, and we arents sure if we put the fall out peice in or on right but we think we did cuz the gun is completely tightened with no wobble. THANK YOU!

Sounds right. I havent even held this gun, let alone own one...

hey guys, long time no see, but while we're on the subject of flash hiders. Ive got a newly purchased CA M15A4 RIS and its got a SR-16 type flashhider. I need to know whats the best way to get in the little nooks and krannys of it. should I remove the whole flashhider and soak it in nail polish remover or what? ive got most of the exterior orange but its bothering me that theres the spots I missed.
Nail polish remover and a plastic tooted brush from a gun cleaning kit worked well for my SR16 back before it was stolen.
