is it possible for youre video card to just simply not work??,
you can pay for school but you cant buy class

check which driver you have for the video card. Let me know, and I'll find the newest for that card for you... Also, if you have onboard memoy, switch over and boot windows normally to see if the crad is the problem... Let me know

i think the card is the problem becuse if i run windows normally it shows up the loading screen then goes blank, if i take it out it runs fine, how do i find out what driver i have?

have you gotten a blue screen stating there is a driver stuck in thread? checkhalfway down the screen on the white font warnign if it has happened, and happens again... Also, go under add/remove programs, look for something that says ati drivers, and remove them. Then in safe mode, reinstall the newest version over the net. Or after deleting the ati drivers, go under hardware manage and update the drivers froiom there. This may solve your problem. If no workie, you are correct, card may be screwed.

no nothing goes blue, it goes black, and then at bottom of screen it says refresh status 9hz, which is slow. i was thinking of buying a new one any way.

Yes, a video card can just fail. But, did you upgrade the drivers or change the resolution on your system before the problem occured? Did you make any other changes prior to the problem.

last one was AGP, i dont know what is the best type of slot?...by the way im not spending more than 100$

if you plan on going with the same mobo, you'll have to go agp, unless pci is your thing.
