Why ? why do you need that speed ?

because I want to. Why do we buy more than one gun? Why do we have more than one holster? Why do we carry more than 3 times the amount of ammo we will need into a single game?(other than I'm a horrible shot) Why would I enjoy two women instead of one? Excess is the desire of all men.

Hahahahaha...

Two basic thing you can do now...raise up Vcore and keep CPU temp cool as much as you can. Set your BIOS ratio...

Now I know this cpu can go to 4.2 on air no problem.

Believe it or not farkle, these chips go up to 5.2 on phase or peltier. As to your question, how do I know they go that high? Both my uncles and one cousin have the same cpu's... all clocked reasonably above 4.2, one at 5.2Ghz... I know it's possible, but I think maybe the mobo won't let me crank it past. It is an nforce 4 570 sli, but nforce 4 is crp oc'ing is what I've recently read. Not sure where to turn to, other than buy new mobo. Thus the help thread.

oh yeah, farkle, it's an Asus P5NSLI, nforce 4 570 series... crap board but expensive for it's usage...

make sure your PCI ratio is keeping them at ~normal speed.

Well, good luck with your Electricity bill w/ that if your gonna be running it.

to poisonfree: agreed about the elctricity bill, doesn't take all 550 watts all the time, just there just in case. As for the batch statement, I agree as well, but with the load temps at 32 to 38 degrees at 1.5125 Vcore, some thing tells me this on is okay. I've found the problem. This particular board has problems allowing anything higher than a 275 fsb. And when using the ddr2 675 xms2 it really hinders the possibility with a 1:1 ratio. Even with dividers, which are controlled soley by my bios(which sucks), it's rough getting the memory past 930. Hmmm... I guess I gotta pony up the dough.
