I can respect the coast guard. It's a job and someone's got to do it. Though I always found it amusing that back when ( I don't know how it is now) the coast guard was under the Department of Transportation until such a time as war and THEN comes under the Department of Transportation.
you can pay for school but you cant buy class
i understood it, thats wierd. dont know why it isnt just covered by the navy
Actually, if you've look at all the modern day American conflicts the Coast Guard have played a vital yet unsung role. They've seen frontline actions in Korea and Vietnam. And a very active role in the Gulf War, Iraq War, Panama and such. If memory serves me correctly they were given the status as a separate branch because their primary duty is coastal defense and policing. While the Navy became the foreign interest defense and first line of diplomatic action.

Don't get me wrong, I have only the utmost respect, these guys are great. Just pointing out an amusing fact...
I want airforce. My cousin, uncle, great uncle, and grandpa was in the airforce. My second choice is the marines. I love the military.

so far i've been looking into the air force/non-combatant route but need to go see a recruiter again to find what would be available in that area. i was with an army recruiter for a while learning about that branch and took one of the tests which i can't remember what it was called now but it was to give a score based on what you knew in areas of math, science, mechanics and a bunch of other areas and i ended up scoring with a 87-90's range somewhere around there.

to those that are considering becoming soldiers, read this. although it is written to people who specifially want to go into airborne rangers in can apply to all soldiers/marines.

No, I don't think he was there last semester. If memory serves me, he was going to Sierra at the time (2001ish-2002ish). Then, he transferred to UNLV, I lost contact with him. Man, I wonder if he got his pilot slot?
