question: what is the highest tension of spring that would be safe to use (without risk of damaging the gearbox) in either the G&P reinforced gearbox 7mm for the AK series or the reinforced HurricanE III 7mm for the AK series. Also who makes the better (stronger/more durable) gearbox out of the two?

Go to www.redwolfairsoft.com and look in accessories under AEG Gearbox and look at Systema's M170 Magnum gearboxes. I know it doesnt help you with your question but this gearbox can shoot 550fps+.
well i can make any stock tm gear shoot that if i want but true i would go for sytema with the 7mm bearings, they are awsome.
Sp110. Its closer to the tension of a m120 than a m100.

it also depends on the piston head and piston that you're using.

You can through a m120 in any of the ver. 3 gearbox's with no prob
