more ram is best for laptops, it will make your computer page less shit to the hard drive as ram gets too full. The comparison would be nanoseconds vs milliseconds which is a huge difference.

for laptops, get at least 1 gb ram to make them run well. and have someone who knows what they are doing install it, you dont want to f anything up

i just purchased a 512 for now.it was cheap at only 45 bucks.when u say speed,like what do u mean?its faster than what i was thats for sure,and i can run more windows without any lag.thanks for the help bordicon!!

DEFRAG!!!! I don't know how many times I yell at people who get these computers with a GIG+ of Ram, and these 2.0 GHZ+ Processors and never DEFRAG, and then complain that its going slow. These guys already told you what to do to make it faster, but remember to DEFRAG and do a Disk Cleanup every so often.

defrag rearranges folders and files on your computer to make it run faster, and the 512 mb RAM is a good idea.
