Discharge them, then wait until the night before the game to re-charge.

ya, also go to a hobby shop or toy store where they have a hobby section. The guy at my local hobby shop was more used to dealing with RC car battries but they are basically the same thing.

That sounds like a good idea but I think I should get a few more opinions before I do anything.

well it depends on if they're NiMH or NiCad on weather storing charge will create a memory effect but you should discharge them anyway... a discharger at AEX is $15 i think? maybe cheaper at an RC hobby store

I have a discharger and the batteries are 8.4v 1000mah Ni-Mh Mini Batteries. But I think I remember reading somewhere not to discharge Ni-Mh batteries because it will ruin them but I could be wrong.

ive never been told that but i am far from an excpert on batteries, i always discharge adn re cahrge my batteries before everygame, its worth it.

Nimh do not need to be discharged because they have no memory such as nicads

If you have a decent smart charger, thats fine...If you have a regular wall charger you will probably damage them if you overcharge them....which many people do...

NiMH and NiCad Batteries are one in the same except NiMH do not have memory and the NiCads do. From what I learned in my AP Chemistry Class my senior year (and this is pretty much out of the book in front of me) is that NiMH and NiCad batteries will get worse at holding a charge the more you discharge (or use) and recharge. NiMH and NiCad batteries are the worst thing to have, but they are cheap and easily fixable.
I am a 33! Be proud of what you are...
