CA M120 spring install?
Hey im installing a 120 spring in my ca m16. I got it in but now it wont pull the piston all the way back to the release point. I have a 8.4 3300mah battery on it. Is that not enough? Am i missing something? Im having the same problem with the stock spring installed. The wires that go to the motor and the fire selector plate are gettinh a bit warm too. Everything turns freely without the spring tension so I dont think there is a problem woth the gears. Also the spring is about 1 to 1.5 inches longer than the stock spring. The package says for all TM's except PSG-1. So I think its the right spring. Please help if you can. Thanks
Well if it worked with the stock spring before and wont work with either now, I'd say it was something you did. Check your shimming. Take apart the box and pull out the tappet plate/spring, piston, cylinder, cylinder head, spring, spring guide, and also the ani-reversal latch. Pretty much the whole 'top-end' if you will. Now put it back together with all the screws. Stick your finger in there and see if the gears move freely and how much resistance there is. Report back.

Well I dunno then. The problem is not exactly an easily diagnosed problem without being hands on.

i figured that. if there was resistance what should i look for?
Whats the best way to get the spring in without jamming all the gears together and making them move out of alignment with the holes in the covers?
u want to spin the gears, do they spin freely like about 2 rotations?. if not then it could be your shimming. does it reuqire ALOT of force to spin the gears. If so reshim till u can spin the gears with little to no effort and they go for about 2-3 rotations. And make sure the slop between the bushings is none on the spur and sector gears.
Check for wear on the gearbox shell under the gears. If there is wear, then the shimming is definitly bad. Make sure each gear is spaced correctly(does not rub on the corresponding gear). Of course the gears should rotate with no problems, but gear spacing is also very important. An 8.4 should push a 120 fine. I have had many guns with this set up with no problems.
Also, make sure when you are doing the shimming make sure you screw the case together. Don't just close it and hold it tight, make sure you screw the screws in and then try to rotate the gears freely.

Thanks for all the input. I got it back together but broke the nozzle in the process. Replaced that and now it is shooting multiple bb's at once. Is that a mag problem or somrthing else? If I cannot get this fixed on my own is will AEX or someplace like that fix it for me?

how did u break that nozzel?! lol noobs should not attempt repairs unless they know mechanical dohickeys REALLY WELL, and yes AEX will fix it but they are going to charge you.
Dont know how the nozzle broke just did. Snoopy you serious or jerkin me arround?

yes, with the tappet plate
do I have to take the gear box apart to fix this?
yes,the gearbox will need to be taken apart to replace the nozzle.
