we-tech 1911 propane question

Jan 15, 2007 12:19am
I recently purchased a we-tech 1911 gbb and I was wondering if propane could be used in it. I know I would need propane and the propane adapter for it but I was wondering if it would blow the seals or if it would break the slide or something. So yeah, please?

Propane = Green Gas = HFC22
Gun control is not Crime control.

well, I knew that green gas is propane because I did my research on google. If someone does know the durability or has done this before, than I would greatly appreciate it.

they work perfectly fine with propane

i would recomend doing spring upgrade, ive run WAs ok with new springs on GG and propane.

so if I use propane, its not gonna mess the gun up at all? its not gonna randomly break in the middle of a game? And does it freeze at the same rate as hfc22 or other green gas?

wre not saying that, shi t breaks, my rifle went down in the middle of a game saturday for no reason.

okay, "randomly" was a bad word. Its not gonna snap the slide off right?

so it freezes at the same or similar rate as green gas? I wanted to surprise my team when I kicked their as ses with a gas pistol in the snow. It would have been freakin hillarious.

I think the only reason they don't cycle in extreme cold is because of the lubrication issue.

so if I lubed it like a mofo it might actually work? With either gas?
Jan 15, 2007 1:39am
dont over lube, it will get grimy and gum up, just lightly lube the vavles and i like to clean my gas guns after every game with lube, i mainly clean the slide, outer barrel, mag well and spring, and other do hikeys.

no, the propane you HAVE to lube, I believe you just spray a shot silicon in the adaptor before you load a mag. Both types of gasses perform poorly in cold weather

okay if its gonna be retarded and HAVE to inject lube into the mag(aka a lot of trouble for me, I dont like to have to do stuff) I wont go through all these steps. But thank you very much for all of your help!

step 1, spray lube, step 2 fill mag, sounds hard. i mean im lazy mang but dam u took the time to do this on the forums.

i know, but I thought that the outcome would be better if I asked someone with a lot more experience than me. If I could get like 3 mags worth of gas out of a propane charge, than it would be worth it. I just realized what a waste of time this thread was. I am sorry about that. But I do appreciate your feedback and support.

All it takes is about 3-5 drops in the rubber at the top of the mag every 5 mags or so. Propane IS green gas, there is no "difference" between them other than the lube, smell added, and the lettering on the can. Im not sure if WE guns are any better than they were, but if you use it alot expect it to break(they use, or used, weak metals for the internal parts).

I beleive the we 1911 is a metal slide so it won't break but they use alot of gas so I do not think you will get more than loadup shot per fill.

i used to have one. worked fine with propane. but i can be witness to how crappy the gas efficiency is for it

WE slides are made of lead-potmetal-alluminum mix and are very heavy. It will not break on propane.
