new ca guns
classic army has a new catalogue out. looks like their next gun will be a g36c and some mp5's with navy selector switches:

Very nice, maybe they will even make a kit to convert the G36 into an XM8.
What would be the main difference between them and Tm? besides the name.
America... just a nation of two hundred million used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns and no qualms about killing anybody else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable.- HST.

The new CA guns are much better than TM guns internally. The gears are of much higher quality, the pistons are already upgraded, and some have upgraded piston heads as well. For the most part they are already coming with metal spring guides, and are using high silicone wire harnesses. TM guns have very low quality gears, and most other internal components are of a low quality plastic.
classic army also come stock with metal bodies, don't know if anyone said that, but they do. saves you $150 on a metal body for a TM gun. personally, all I think a TM is good for is for shooting the neighborhood cats in your back yard without having to worry about pissing your wife off because you made one bleed.
the older CA's you'd have to swap out a couple of parts before heavy usages, tappet plates, and the piston itself, or youd end up stripping gears and the rest of the stuff in the gearbox, for the new ones no idea. stock TM guns are perfect, too many people dont understand and comprehend that high fps doesnt give you that great of an advantage, and with all the younger players now and n00bs most think about having high fps guns cause they think its better...in reality safety wise lower is better, and provides longevity to your "toys" as for me, my TM only shoots 320-330sh with .2s..i think that 350FPS is perfect, and to be honest it is, you can just play about anywhere, doesnt matter if its outdoor/woodland or CQB action.

viper's totally right on the fps thing. unless you're sniping, there's no need to go beyond 350. 350 and below actually lets you maintain a higher rof which is cool.

i am gonna get that g36c damn it!!!! i just hope star makes g36c mid-caps.
The last CA rifle I bought shot way too hot and was a pos in general.
Look, I'm a politician, which means I lie, and I'm a cheat.
As far as the quality of the new CA guns, I haven't seen many problems with them. Obviously there will be factory defects in just about anything that you encounter, but CA has been very good with fixing problems with their guns, and the problems that they have had to fix have been pretty minor in my experience.
Ok, I was really fighting the temptation to post into this thread, but...
I have to disagree with you on the gear box issue. The strenth of the CA gearbox is much better than that of a TM gearbox. TM cuts corners on adding re-enforcement. I've been inside both gearboxes, and I was much more impressed with the CA guns. I will however give you that the earlier M15s were not as high of quality, but the guns that have been coming out of the factory within the last couple of months have been coming with re-enforced gearboxes, and a host of other reenforced parts. The tolerances of the components inside of the gearbox of the new guns has been exceptional. To tell you the truth, I would rather stick a pin in my eye than upgrade a TM box as opposed to a new CA box. But that's just my personal opinion.
whats the difference between the new CA gb and the TMs gb? same versions, same amount of screws, TM has more washers than CAs gearbox screws. dont think anything is different about them but im not too sure.

ca uses phillip head screws so no #3 torque driver,
supposedly the ca gearboxes are reinforced like progear boxes.

Its not so much that we are getting hot under the collar, at least thats how I see it from my point of view. I just like a good argument, and also I'm tired of people bad mouthing CA without all of the facts. I know that I do not know everything about either gun, but I do have a good amount of information, and when I see someone posting information that is contrary to mine I like to correct them. If I am wrong I am more than willing to accept that, but like I said, I love a good argument :D
one cybernetic monkey, one superior bananna.
here's my rant...i'm talking from experience with some 40 something AEG's that I have owned...and a bunch of others that I have worked on...
First of all, the external quality of CA guns is NOT better than TM guns. The only "downside" of the TM guns is that they come with a plastic body, and that really only affect a few guns in the line. (Check out the AUG or Thompson sometime.) CA guns may have metal bodies, but from the few M15 bodies I've seen, the fitment is poor and the finish is mediocre, at best. Compared to a good aftermarket body, the CA bodies just don't stack up. The TM bodies may be ABS plastic, but their fitment is much more precise.

I still question CA's quality control however...at the last night game, stevofett's CA M15 RIS started shooting full auto without pulling the trigger....all he had to do was position the selector from safe, to semi, to full auto...no need to pull the trigger...it just shot after setting the fire selector lever to the full auto...
