Li-poly Battery Question?

Feb 15, 2007 7:33am
I was wondering if this Li-poly battery would have enough power to it to make a gun that shoots 450-500 fps?I think it does I just want to make sure and if anyone knew how many rounds it would last.If this isn't a good battery package please let me know and help me find a btter one. Thanks!

I would say it might run your gun. I had the 1500mah one and it destroyed my mp5 gearbox.

The battery will help your ROF, it is not going to push up your FPS.

I'm pretty sure it will run it too I am just curious on how many shots?I don't want it to break my gearbox either. Is Li-poly the way to go or should I just stay with my NIMH battery?

40 amp continuous rating- not a problem.

Can you explain it to me a little more ray?

Stronger springs draw higher loads which will draw more current from it's energy source.

Yea I've heard of lipo's ruining peoples guns!So on a hot summer day it could explode even if it's not charging?
Feb 15, 2007 11:35pm
Yes. Lipo's over 100 deg. = danger wether it's charging/discharging/sitting. If the battery is stored in the stock of a gun, it'll not only damage the gun but yourself as well. When it goes, it goes. No warning what so ever.

Holy *poop* I might just want to go with an intellect 9.6v 3600 mah then.
Feb 16, 2007 2:22am
you might need more then a 9.6v to power a 500 FPS spring

What size volt would I need?If I did get a 9.6v 3600 mah NIMH battery do you know how many shots it would last?

9.6 is the voltage. How many shots is dependent on how well the internals is shimmed and what brand of motor you use.

If you're going to be cranking that much spring, you can probably get away with using one of these...

Systema magnum motor and a 9.6v 3000+ mah battery should push it. I have teammates pushing 420 fps w/ .30 bbs in their m14 and they are using the 9.6v 3300mah packs pretty well. Save your face and the risk and don't get the lipo.

What size Li-Poly would fit into the foregrip of an LR300 and pull an M120 spring? If I understand correctly it is the amp output that is important?

If I get a conventional Nimh battery what one should I get to power a m170 spring?I have been using a 9.6v 2000 mah Nimh nun-chuck battery for my m120 spring.I want one that will power my gun with no problem and shoots more than a 1,000 rounds each charger.

I'm afraid you'll have to do some googl'n and find your info elsewhere. Most people don't go through the trouble of doing a high powered AEG because of the amount of money required to build, maintain and repair it.
