UTG ak47 HELP
SO my buddy ran out and bought a UTG ak47 from jf paintball up here in GV.. no offence but they're way to expensive and don't know much.. (sorry to anyone offended)..
is there a chance that he can return it?that would be the best thing, then go over to AEX and grab a TM

well...if you knew it was a rip-off...why didn't you tell him to save up and buy a TM/CA?
his options are unlimited...if you know someone who will do them. Find someone who can/will do the work and go from there..
You just got killed by a Daewoo Lanos...How You like me now?
More than likely not. They will say he broke it by abuse and tell him to piss off. PM RAPP and see if he would work on it.
I shoot Table Gypsies on sight!
We've been cheep pistol poachers for about 2 months. I run a cabinet shop on a private 40 acres so instead of staple or nail guns, which i stuck an 18 guage 1.5 long staple right in his cheek hehe... we decided to get airsoft guns so we could just shoot the hell out of each other...
I personally wouldn't open it up because then you friend might try to dsy you broke it and you have to buy him a new gun.You might not think so because he is a really good friend bit trust me it could happen.
thanks for the soap opra advice... Let's get a little more meat here.. i'm a big boy k? now post something good...

I can make it work great, but it wouldn't be worth his money. He's better off buying another gun. (I've actually got a Hurricane V3 mechbox sitting here with a bunch of parts if he does want to go ahead with this, but again, he would save more money buying another gun.)
how much are we talkin about here? and where are you at? how long does something like this take?
for your earlier question, jf doesnt take returns, they will give you store credit though. there more of a paintball store. neither of those guys really play airsoft. ive seen them working on aegs but they wont be very knowlagable on airsoft.
paintballer :(
Fock! Is it seriously that bad? Get some new mags and you should be set, I have ran 7 or 8 bags of bb's through my utg and it still rips. I know a whole bunch of guys that have them and the only problem I have heard of is the mags. Besides it's not about the gun, you have to have skill.

having a gun that isnt crap does help though... i traded in my utg mp5 for an m93r2 (gass blowback) it had better range and accuracy on full auto than the utg i had.

It's going to be the same as any other gun once you replace the internals. My new plan is to build a utg that will be a beast. Also I am going to build it on a budget just to prove that it can be done. Parts are pretty easy to come by if you wait for the right deal. If it disintegrates into a billion pieces from the overload I will buy a TM.

It can be done. I have upgraded a UTG before, and it still shoots a year later. I am not saying I would ever buy one, but I am saying it can be done. Things I replaced right off the bat were the motor and wiring.
It's crap. my S-System right now makes it look like a CYMA.
"If today is a good day to die, then how bad could it be to live today?"
Oh. All he wants to do is upgrade it? Hell, I can do that cheap, and it'll work just fine. I thought he actually wanted to build it up to be a higher quality gun.
I'm not sure what he wants to do... But i'll let him know it's doable... he might want to run it out till it's dead and buy a good gun... I'll talk to him..
I am not one to buy clones, but if you are going to, get the Echo 1's or the A&K S-System.

In the airsoft world a clone isn't made in a lab by scientists, they are made by children in China. Airsoft was around long before TM, they just have long lasting guns so most people prefer them over others.

TM pioneered the AEG market when they introduced the FAMAS F1 back in 1991 and revolutionized the industry/sport/hobby. Battery powered airsoft guns made airsofting more affordable (and gave way to hi-caps, for better or worse), allowed players to play longer w/o having to reload on gas, and gave players the option of not having to lug a gas tank around while playing.
My best advice for new airsoft players:

Isn't Hong Kong in China?

ya but CA's are their own design. They have thier own guns while the TM clones just copy tm guns specs and hope for the best.
