removing Paint?

well i got an M16 yesterday from a guy on here, and well....he painted a perfectly nice M4 metal body to an OD/tan/wtfcolor glossy finish.

what i do is use very sandy sand paper, like 10000 grade.

i don't want to paint over something that i know is perfectly black under the paint...so id rather remove the paint then have to put even more paint on top of it... :(

Um, the black under the paint is also.... paint. If you use paint remover, you'll also remove the original coat.

try different solvents... acetone, laquer thinner, paint thinner to see what works too good and what works just right...

paint remover the whole thing, they pay somebody to powdercoat it.

brake fluid will remove it and not hurt the plastic. i use to use it to strip old Tamiya Toyota bodies. search google, remove paint from plastic

oh wow thanks. i read most of the posts from one of those links and they all said that brake fluid and also oven cleaner works as well.
