Just Human, Just helping. MP40 Gearbox

I felt VERY attacked over posting this item...I have a cert in AutoCAD, Graduated at the top of my class. Doesn't mean all my work has to satisfy NASA. This was a twenty-minute job, and was posted for the benefit of other scratchbuilders. I could just as well have kept my hard work to myelf...The Dim's are the whole idea of this post. It's not a wall hanging!

To be perfectly honest: No. We couldnt use it. You made a copy of probably one of the WORST gearboxes ever made for airsoft.

There's already a company out there that made a MP40 with a version 3 GB w/ the motor placed horizontally (like the ver. 6?). I've got one and must say that it actually shoots decently for $140 bucks. The gun is HEAVY and the folding stock doesn't seem to want to snap off at a moment's notice. Only thing that sucks is the company that made this MP40 decided to put a selector switch on a full-auto only gun!
My best advice for new airsoft players:

I build a 1919A4 Replica (www.air-sharp.com). This gearbox will fit entirely inside, with no parts hanging out. So I needed to generate a CAD drawing. It is a drop-in, and requires no mods for use. The whole system from the AGM MP40 Version3 gun is put into the 1919, including hopup and barrel. It is easy enough for the enterprising to upgrade things. According to other forums (ww2aa) this is much better than using a ver2. Virtually any other boxes will not fit into a 1919 (skip the $$$M249 stuff) without surgery or something hanging out the bottom (the motor). At $129 at airsplat, you can use the guts and sell the body and box contents, at at least half of what you spent. When the parts wear out, repeat. Yes, I'm advocating disposeable airsoft parts....
