Hey, does anyone here have any connections with the Sac. County Sheriff's office? Or any other law enforcement ageny for that matter? I'm going in to take a written exam next week (with the Sac. County Sheriff's Office), and was wondering if anyone had any tips?

It takes 6months to whenever for your paperwork to actually be processed, proved, and for you to start work. One of the officers at my company just now got into Sac County, and he applied in late 2005. Keep in mind he also had full POST and an AA.

Ding im pretty sure you are taking the standard post entry test...Sheriff Dept. Trainee, correct? You will take that test and get a "T" score and a percentage. If you pass the written and score high enough you will be invited to the the physical and turn in a PHS (personal history statement). In conjunction with the PHS they will send letters to the references you listed. Then you will do a voice stress analyzer (lie detector) and a short interview. If everything goes well there your info will be sent to the lieutenant for hiring and he will say ok/no. If you get pass him then your app will be sent to the sheriff for approval...To be offered a position you will need to score a minimum of a 48 (easy, I scored a 63 of 71 @ 90%)
