Gearbox warm?! need help
shot my p90 today, it has a ftk installed, and a m100 instead of the m120. anywho, the weather was very warm when i shot outside off my front deck. I unloaded about a hicap (m16) through it then went inside to check everything out and whatnot. I opened the buttplate to un-hook the batt and noticed that it was really warm, like the metal surounding the motor, and every other part of the gearbox i could reach with my finger. also the cord to the battery was hot, but not the part of the cord that was external from the gun (as it runs from inside the back, to outside the front of the gun, to the boxmag)
did it work? as long as it worked, chances are it was just hot outside.
Did you line the interior with Dynamat?
its going to get warm regardless because of all the moving parts "friction"

weeeee.... don't take things too seriously it's bad for your health.....
[quote="s0c0m_freak"]no i did not
Yeah, the more you use full auto the more heat it'll generate. And your gearbox will act like a heatsink for the motor. If your worried about it, run a 20 amp fuse. At least you'll pop a fuse before burning up or melting somthing.
or..!! just an idea...dont go full auto hardcore...more full auto you go, more stress to your gearbox, which means more stress on the gears and the internals, hence causing a major break down within your toy...or whatever LoL

ya plus any true airsofter knows that unless youre rolling with a LMG going FA just makes you look silly. just becuase it has a 300rnd mag doesn't mean it's a SAW. :wink:

Look, I'm a politician, which means I lie, and I'm a cheat.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Make up for marksmanship through sheer volume of fire!
I usually just bust fire AEG's, but nate, your p90 shoots so far NE ways, you really dont need full auto hardocre, or just burst it. Although occasionally, I feel the need to spray fire :twisted:
America... just a nation of two hundred million used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns and no qualms about killing anybody else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable.- HST.
