Sniper rifle optics

What does everyone use for optics on their sniper rifles? I just got a 4x32 mil-dot illuminated scope for my CA25. Will this be effective at typical engagement ranges? I could'nt see getting a higher power scope given the engagement ranges of airsoft guns.

i use a tasco 3-9x 40. my aps2 can prolly get out to around 250 feet comfortably...maybe 300 feet max (although i wouldn't be able to hit anything). i actually use around 5 or 6 x magnification so i can see the necessary detail.
What's a signature?

I'm using a 4x32, but i'd like to get a 3-9x12. If you can, get one with adjustable range, simply because it can help to further identify your target, and well as help get head counts when you don't know how strong an opposing force is.

yep thats the one I have got. I have not had a chance to zero it yet and test it. Hell I have not even fired the rifle its mounted on yet except at AEX to chrono it. I may end up putting this on my M4 and getting a 3-9x40. I will have to see if this scope functions as good as it looks.

a small objective lens diameter won't help with target acquisition at all. 40 or larger would be best. leupold tactical scopes such as the m1 and m3, which are used by military, are typically 40. 50 might be a little overkill, but it all depends on the operator's needs. ding, good luck seeing anything with a 12.
