The innovation I was talking about is overall innovation in all market more then the niche airsoft market.
I always believed that the price of TM or other "High Tier" brands were way too expensive. Its not justified. 400 for some metal and plastic gears? *no no word*, my laptop was almost that price and its internal components are worth more and went under greater QC. Its just this pattern of male hobbies where they can charge you an arm and a leg for fun. I bet the profit margins are really high if companies like echo1 can release guns @ 1/3 the price with similar materials and still stay in business.
In general chinese knock-offs aren't so vastly superior to the stuff they knock-off nor are they more efficient at producing them hence lower manufacturing costs. They do so at expense of other's hard work, disregard for the environment and worker expense. That does not and will never drive innovation but merely puts everyone into a price cutting frenzy and we the consumer's get the short end of the stick.
I really never saw it that way... but it makes perfect sense...

yet the fact remains that consumers will usually go for the product with the cheapest price... if China wasn't producing all the stuff we use you think that everyone in America would get what they need at a decent price?

It is only natural for consumers to find the best prices that is how economics work. That short-sited thinking is what's going to get our economy into a long term trouble. Yes they are helping to produce lower priced products.

but in truth, it's not just China, look at what's happened since the signing of NAFTA, American firms (such as GM)have moved their entire operation down to Mexico, and use the crap out of the cheap labor force there, and get to bring the finished product back tax-free, I really think it's a problem the world over, with people constantly trying to achieve higher profit margins.

quick update on the JG AUG SR: just hooked up a 9.6v 2000mah GP nunchuck pack to the AUG and WOW! As expected the ROF went through the roof and sounds vicious! Although I'm not sure if using a 9.6v with a gun that's only got nylon bushings is the wisest decision to make... Might stick with a regular mini just so I don't use up my only hicap that fast... LOL.

My JG M16 has the same style cylinder. It has markings of SB on the gearbox, and shoots at 365 fps stock, and after a tightbore and reinstalling the hop up rubber, the fps is 380-385 fps with .20s.

hi,

Glen, have you upgraded to metal bushings on your M16 or are you keeping the nylon ones? When shawn put a full cylinder in my AUG the FPS went up by 10.

thanks for the advice Glen, I was thinking the same about the nylon bushings, Shawn also told me that he would put in metal bushings only because he had them.
