I am about 6 months away from potentially shipping out to MCRD San Diego this summer to serve in the Marine Corps. I already talked to a recruiter and am about to sign my life away. But I only recently got my priorities straight. Number one before I enlist, Fitness. I am not exceptionally out of shape but I do need improvement which leads me to my question.

I myself am homosexual, and find your post invigorating and morally offensive. Ok not really. Maybe we can E-Spot via webcam. jk

if your not in the DEP already you will be and once you are its mandatory to show up for pt with your recruiter. your main focus is on an 18 minute 3 mi, 20 pullups and 100 crunches, everything else is secondary. youll have time in the fleet to get jacked all you want. do some p90x or join an mma gym.

Sweet dude! Same here, I leave in June! Dude, I totally understand what youre going through, my parents were both drug addicts. My dad is clean and has been for a while, but has another family. And my mom is still kinda screwing up, but I live with my grandmother. YOu can tough it out until summer, who much weight do you have to lose/gain? I didnt read the thread if it says so sorry.
Marines die, that's what we're here for. But the Marine Corps lives forever. And that means YOU live forever.

Talked with my recruiter, I am disqualified for a year anyway. Being on Zoloft might make me crack and pull a Fort Hood stunt or some shit.

It's for your own good. If you're on zoloft now the military life will really mess you up. Look at suicide rates in the mil, there is a reason for them.

I would bet an overwhelming amount of the people who attempt or went through with it didn't think themselves to be the one...
