Question about the TM s-system
Does the TM S-System have a metal body or cheapy plastic? How are they in stock form out of the box?
RazorOne
they have portions of the RIS that are metal but this gun feels hefty man.. When my gun was stock I roached my bevel gear by running a 9.6v 3300 mah PEQ. The gun comes with an 8.4v mini that fits in the foregrip... Very tight fight... can't fit a bigger battery there.. unless you dremel more room. Peq's or a Laylex Battery sling will allow for a bigger battery. ROF is great.
cool thats the kind of info I was looking for. I had forgotten that you had one. So if I were to get one you would suggest I replace the ggears? I will go with a bigger battery 9.6v of some type thats for sure.

I'll tell you the truth... the ROF is so much better with the 9.6v battery. I'd run with one till something strips... then upgrade the spring gears and bushings... then you'll be rock solid...
is the reciever metal or typical tm plastic?

damn I wish TM would use frikkin metal recievers! That is why I like CA or the others. It is cheaper to upgrade gears and pistons and such then buying metal exterior after market parts. For the price you pay for TM they should be metal....period.

Go with the TM. Granted I love my CA to death, I just feel I'm missing out not having a metal body that I chose for myself.
why do people want heavy guns?? I don't think weight has anything to do with sturdiness. But TM's are nice guns and being able to get a metal body of choice is a def plus.
I just prefer metal bodies. Its just my thing.... Its not the weight, its the structural integrity of the weapon that I like. Take my TM MP5 RAS. A B&T reciever and barrel assembly togther cost $175.00 together. Now I love the MP5 but there is flex in the weapon. How much would it cost to replace the insides of the same weapon with not top end parts but better then stock?
RazorOne
its funny how people think that metal bodys are the sex..... think about IF you do have a problem with them lol
HOLY SHIP ITS BAKABORDEN!
means nothing if the metal receiver's made out of monkey metal, which is the case with CA. A cheap rigid metal body will snap faster than a durable, flexible plastic receiver. Internals should always take priority over externals, if you play airsoft frequently, since it sucks donkey balls to have a gun go down in the middle of a game.
My best advice for new airsoft players:
what do you guys think of the TM S-System rsca is selling?

"We'll bomb them back to the stone age" General Curtis Lemay ,USAF
oh thanks for the heads up...a few people told me that he is too...^___^
I love my s-system... for one thing there is NO flex in the barrell.. the gun is front heavy with the peq. We have two in my group.. BIG jim has a drum mag on his and uses it as a suppression weapon and I use mine for more of the cqb sneak up and pop ya game... Ours are versital and very reliable... Both guns have been fully upgraded though...
The TM S-System has reinforced body tabs (the area that breaks on the older TM guns). The new TM M4a1 Gen II also has reinforced body tabs. The problem with the reinforced body tabs is that while it reinforced the area that used to break, it creates a stress area in another part of the gun.
+1 Evo that why right there CAs are made in HOng Kong aka China different laws.
Based on from what I read on some sights such as www.redwolfairsoft.com the TM type 89 is a repilca of a Japanese sevice rifle. The Japanese military over there does use the airsoft TM type 89 for some parts of their training. What some members said on this forum about Japan's restirctions on metal content in airsoft replicas are true. If you have every visited Hong Kong which I did a few years back I went to sector where there are two or more blocks of businesses where the majority of the stores where just hobby stores (RC & plastic models store, next to an airsoft store, next to a RC & plastic models store, next to an airsoft store... you get my point). Alot of these airsoft stores distribute metal bodies of make their own for sale or installation.
