don't think its a SacAir event this happneded at, OP said that this happened at Lenix, which if I recall is a SOCAL field. Plus the OP is from El Segundo.

I had a similar event happen. I was at lake shasta last summer and I left out (what I thought) was an empty gg can on the top of a houseboat. Ya...summer in shasta gets to be about 115 freakin degrees. half hour after going inside...BANG!!!!! I rush outside thinking my M40's magazine had exploded. only to find the empty bottle shot 150 yards off the boat.
