What is the point of putting on a Silencer for an AEG? It sure does make it look cooler but it doesn't seem to make it any quieter. Does it make your AEG more accurate? Or is it just for looks? Thanks 8)

They look awesome, and some actually do silence the gun to some extent, there stuffed with foam, its like acoustic dampening in a PC, same idea. You could get a barrel extension that looks like a silencer that will make your gun more accurate and have more range, just a little bit though.

It wont seem like its quieter to you at all. because your head is right next to the gearbox, which is where most of the noise you hear comes from. the silencer (if it is filled with foam) reduces the muzzle noise (i know im not using technical words, but oh well), it wont seem like anything to you at all, but the person on the recieving end of that bb will have a hard(er) time hearing it.

I just like silencers because they give a good excuse as to why your gun is so friggin' quiet. Realism. :)

The one for my G&G UMP was just for looks too. I made it work!!! Ask Wraith667. It can cost up to 6 bucks for the high-tech pat-pending foam from any arts and craft store.

Took it apart, drilled holes in the inner barrel, then loosely rolled a foamed hobby paint roller over it, then put the outer body of the silencer bock over it. Muffled the sound up pretty good, not to mention that this is a loud ars gun (G&G UMP). I think I silenced it up to at 70%, you just got to see for yourself and tell me what you think. I don't mind showing it to you if we ever met in person.
