Thinking of Nade Launcher?

Jul 27, 2004 7:48pm
I'm possibly in the market for a Sun Project RIS Grenade Launcher. I'm looking for suggestions, thoughts, experiences regarding the use and carrying of a launcher on a AEG.

Cool factor, hell yeah!! Practicality, I would lean more towards no. Why?? Cause alot of people don't call their hits when you see 50 bb's bouncing off them. Also makes the gun front heavy and the cost of shells are outragous but seem to be getting more affordable with the king shells.

nade launchers are fun but they're heavy. weight is really the main issue for me. for it to be worth it, you'd want at least 3 grenades. CAuse think about it, if you have one, you're carrying an extra 3 or 4 pounds on your gun for one shot. and once you use that shot, you just got dead weight cause its difficult to refill shells in the middle of a skirmish. dunno about other people, but the extra front weight affects my aiming a bit. if you're holding up your gun up for a shot for long periods of time, the extra weight and lower position the foregrip makes keeping the gun steady a bit hard.
What's a signature?

heavy?! BAH! LoL Ray's gun is much heavier than mine, but its cause mainly his M203 is all metal, mine is still plastic, LoL "still" but yea my M4 compared to ray's is somewhat more "balanced" if you could say that.

These might be a bit more affordable. They're 180-round grenade shells made by a new company called "Deepfire." I already use their AUG feed nozzle in my guns and they work great...

i want the 203 with the heatshield for my M15, dont know if the mounts and all will fit it though cuase the reenforced barrel is a lot thicker than the TM barrel it was made for. anyone know if it iwll fit?
Jul 28, 2004 5:28am
I'm not sure if it will fit, I think it might require a little dremeling on the adaptor, but you will need an adaptor of some sort for the M15.

If you're a fan of having full metal stuff, I'd suggest the G&P RIS versions.
Look, I'm a politician, which means I lie, and I'm a cheat.

When I was in the Army I humped a 203 for a while. The real deal does add a couple of pounds to the M16A2, but its not all that bad.

I'm getting the Sun Project Launcher RIS version, does it still need a front barrel mount/adapter? I've got a commando barrel on my SR and it doesn't have any place for a front mount/adapter?

no, just get a RIS version and you'll be fine. You only need that part if you have a regular M203.

Sounds good! Thanks!

Jul 28, 2004 7:04pm
porbabally would john but wouldnt be the most sturdy thing, and would stick a good bit past the muzzle.

yup, we no matter who it is on here, even if i disagree with everything they do we still have one thing in common - gluttony for the toys.

One other thing, grenade shells could be very tempermental.
