MP5SD vs MP5A5

May 21, 2007 11:33pm
I was going to buy the CA MP5A5 but i am now starting to change my mind. I am starting to become more interested in the CA MP5SD because it has a built in silencer. Im not sure though if the CA MP5SD actually makes the gun quieter because its an airsoft gun and not a real one. What is the advantage between these two? Which one would you personally get? thanks 8)

i believe the CA's dont have foam so they have no noise difference the TM ones have foam... someone correct me if im wrong.

Yup. Sounds about right. Anyways, the only type of airsoft gun a silencer has any real affect on is a nbb. Yeah, it can suppress the "pop" of a gas gun, but the slide racking still makes a lot of noise.

i can tell you this much. foam filled silencers in an AEG takes off the high end "snap" which i believe travels the furthest and fastest (as sound waves) but the piston slapping the head and your motor are making most the noise.

Personal preference is the only difference.

You want the SD-6. That's the one that Bruce Willis used in "The Jackal." He shot a Russian chick in the liver with it.

a silencer wont sound at all effective on a aeg from the firing end, because your head/ear is right next the the gearbox. but from the recieving end, it makes a difference.....

SD if you like keepin' it simple and sexy, A series if you plan on adding a flashlight grip (or in CA's case it already comes with one).
My best advice for new airsoft players:

I've owned the MP5SD and the MP5A2 and I just don't like the SD. The MP5 Navy with the light looks a lot better.
