ok so i agree this is noobish but whats the difference between a m15 and a m16?
M15 is what Classic Army calls their line of M4/M16 AEGs. They worked out a deal with Armalite Inc, the company that make AR15s (among other models), to have Armalite trademarks all over their AEGs. There is no difference externally between a CA M15 full length rifle and a M16, but there are noticible differences when you compare a CA M15 rifle with a TM M16A2, but I won't get into that.
My best advice for new airsoft players:
Yeah, not being a d!ck, but please don't. I foresee a TM vs CA argument all over again. And if you are curious, a search first please.

He just wants to know the difference between the 2, not which one is better.
Yes, but people like to post their opinions.
Seems like a reasonable question to me. He didn't ask which is better. I was confused for a long while myself, and I still don't think I know the complete answer. I can garuantee (sp) you there a few more folks out there who want to ask the same question, but are afraid to ask.

It's not a noobish question, but I have a decent resource that I use when I want info on the real steel equivalent of our plastic bb flinging counterparts:

M4 is a Registered COLT trademark. No one can use it or colt will sue their ass off. AR15/M16 is not. Armalite has allways named thier guns AR.
I shoot Table Gypsies on sight!
Personally, I do not think that people like to post their opinions. That is my opinion. Nobody does that.
How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?!!
