A lot of retailers use the term "heavy weight" to describe their GBBs, and some manufacturers desgnate their GBBs as "heavy weight" ... From what I can tell, often this seems to mean it comes with a metal slide, but not in all cases I've seen. Can someone tell me what the designation "heavy weight" is supposed to indicate? Or is it just a marketting term that has no real meaning?
As far as I can tell that term has been used on just about every GBB gun. I think it pretty much is saying that the gun is close to or at the weight of the real gun.
heavy weight is a type of plastic/metal polymer (i don't know the exact composition but i think its abs with some metal powder...thats why sometimes strong magnets will stick to the slides of these guns). guns that have heavyweight material are a bit more durable and, like the name says, heavy than standard abs slides. It's pretty easy to tell what gun has what by looking and feeling the slide.
What's a signature?
