As to people under 18 going out, not a good idea. This isn't an airsoft event, we're going to be working and trying to improve the area. Not saying people under 18 can't do these things. But lets keep this safe.
hes not saying your retarded. He simply doing what the LAW would do if he were you employer. Ya i have welding and cutting torch time but i would hurt myself, only certifed people should touch it. ESSPECALLY underage kids.
Nick, its just that it is too easy for people to get sued into oblivion. These days people are frothing at the mouth for reason to take a lot of money from someone, regardless of the circumstance.

That I need to think on. Right now the items in question are removing the large metal garbage parts. Other cleanup could be as simple as grab a rake and move that pile of brush out of the way.

Pics of the area are going to be taken soon. Everyone hold your horses till we actually have a view of the projects.
A cutting torch is a simple tool if you are safe and have more than a few class days on it. You can teach someone to cut safely with an oxy-aceylene torch in under an hour.

Eh, it's easy to teach, but god is it a bitch to perfect.

Nope, talkin bout welding, in its various forms... Not a whole lot to perfect in the way of blasting molten metal with oxygen, lol.

i don't understand why I can't come and help if I'm under 18. I understand not using fire and i wouldn't ask to. Like Nick said i would just help clean up and fix some of the tree houses up. Its not like we are getting paid, its more like a community service thing, which you need in high school anyway.
honestly it's a safety vs. legality issue
+1 its not that we dont trust you younger players its just us olders ones with thing that lawyers can take in a law suit dont like the idea of 16 yo with heavy machinery.
