Springfield Armory XD series

I am confused with the XD models. I know all calibers have a 5 inch Tactical model but what is the difference between the 4 inch Service and Compact models? Anyone own a XD who can tell me the difference? I was kind of looking at a future purchase between a Glock 21 and the XD 45. I have held both in my hands and the XD fits my hand better, Glock 21 is kinda fat.

Compact has a shortened grip frame better suited for concealed carry..I pick up my Tactical .45ACP in 9 days.... :(

Before I decided to buy an XD45, I was on the edge between xd45 & a glock 21. I went with the XD45 since it suited me better plus its safety features. Ive gone at least 6k rounds without any issues. Oh yeah I have an xd9 as well.

I just got my 4 inch Service model in .45ACP and it is nice. Will be bringing it to the Gun Room on September 1st. Shown with it's distant cousin from Springfield Armory.
