punk is alive and well its not just a dress style or a music "genre" its a way of life as well as an outlook on life. i grew the only punk in my highschool of 400 (yeah small school) scared the crap out of kids, got removed from schoool for my home made (not hot topic bought) leather jacket sporting spikes that are over the legal blade limit and studs that could signal an aircraft flyin over a castaway. had a mohawk that was cut by friends not super cuts. also punks know what a nautical star truly reps not what SKIN and other bro comapnies think. still live life for booze and tattoos, fast music, political freedom and excercism of ALL the ammendments. if you look hard enough you can find the scene in every town, city, or country. punk wont die it just gets covered up by mainstream bands who call themselves punk.

oh yeah and the guy that said "if youre under 25 chances are you arent punk" is somewhat ignorant. just cuz you had your scene doesnt mean we dont have ours, its changed a little but thats alright, as long as you dont support fascist mtv its all good. im 19, ive been listening to punk since 5th grade. my first cd was bad religion all ages. hooked ever since. ive been on stage at misfits shows, seen danzig, sold jerry only spikes off my back, and helped fallen kids in the pit get up. beat the crap out of skin heads and flipped off and cussed out a fair share of cops. so what? the 25 year olds or whatever that say us kids arent true punks are ignorant, just bc we are makin our own scene and not sitting on our old alcoholic asses thinking about how much "more punk" we are then the younger kids doesnt mean punks dead. the exploited say it best---punk's not dead

I shoot Table Gypsies on sight!
I would have to agree %100 with Johny, although I think there still is a huge hardcore scene in many places.
