just started happening on my m4.
I'd venture to say it's a ripped hop-up bucking. Did you remember to turn it off last time you cleaned the barrel?
hmm...check the hop, and make sure it isnt turned on too high. make sure you are getting the correct amount of compression. happened to my m15a2 and it turned out it had a cracked gear box, so it wasnt getting full compression.

i installed it the way it's supposed to be on there (one side is partially sealed or crowned, right). but i rotated it so that the ripped part of the bucking was not on the groove itself.
