400 FPS is the limit. They show up with AEGS that Chrono over 400 FPS, they will not be able to play with their guns. Its not really hard to change a spring out before the game.

a new upgrade into a gun usually will have high numbers...
ive seen a PTW shoot 401 consistently and the admin said no... pretty much you let one guy play with 401, then someone will argue about why they cant use there 402 or 403 gun.

Ok cool, I understand that it could cause a chain reaction down the line.
why dont they just switch out springs?
You have 2 days to get to either AEX or Gamepod and get it chronoed and see if you need to change springs. I'm sure if you go in early enough tomorrow or Saturday they will do it right there on the spot. Plus you can pick up some green gas while you're at it.

Drew @ AEX SAC might be able to get to it if his work load is not to heavy, and if you bribe him with Midget porn and Jager.

on a serious note, there are rules set in place to make playing safer, and muzzle velocity limits being one of the most important. As much as it sucks to have a gun get disqualified from play, it should be the player's responsibility to make sure that his/her gun is shooting under 400.
My best advice for new airsoft players:
