Have you tried a search? I'm sure there's threads/info on the web about building PCs. Go to Tigerdirect.com, they even have tutorials I believe. CPU, RAM, Hard Drive, Graphics Card, Sound Card, NIC, Motherboard, Case, Power Supply, CD-ROM/DVD/Burners, Mice, Monitor, etc. should be there.

If you are buying a monitor also i suggest a built one as in HP. Fries has some crazy combo's, 700 for comp w/ 19 or 22 inch. All you have to do is buy a 100 dollar vid card. Main thing is compatability believe it or not. Skt 741 will not fit a skt 939 motherboard. etc etc.

Another question, would a MOBO long enough to have 4 PCIe/PCI slots also fit a case with a MOBO in it that is 7 PCIe/PCI slots "long?" As in would the screws align properly and would the spare space not matter.

They Have decent combos all over, you can just ask if the computer has a PCIExpress slot, and buy a PC for 300-400$ and just buy an 80$ video card.

I would just suggest getting a barebone from newegg or tigerdirect and building it off that so you don't have to worry about some components.

3.0 ghz dual-core processor with 2 gigs of RAM for 700 dollars?

yeah we have that. Its just a pentium D though. So it'll definitely be able to more that get the job done but a Core 2 Duo at 2.4 can still get 27 frames per second more in F.E.A.R. and you can overclock those suckers almost a full GHz on the right air cooling. Which is why we are sellin them for so cheap. Not to dis it its a great machine but it just depends on how long you want it to be able to keep up for. If your looking to play next gen games i can build you a sick system for $1500 more or less but if you aren't looking to do next gen stuff then ya check out some of our discounted PC's there are some good deals such as the 3.0 pentium D. And if you don't know how to work on them get a freaking service contract, just a 2-year or 3-year, computers crap out, like all electronics do and if you don't want to pay someone a fortune to fix it...
