How Do You Store Your Guns?

Aug 17, 2004 5:14pm
OK, I'm running out of space underneath the beds and closets. I need to figure out a way that will give me easy access to my AEG's, display them neatly and at the same time be secure from my 3 year old soon (the room it will be in is usually closed so a chain and lock would do for now). I thought of doing the popular grid wall, but I would like to avoid putting holes in the walls.

well my bedroom window lines right up with my nieghbors, basically we can stare at each other, so I don't like having my guns on the wall. All it takes is one of them to think my AK-47 is real, and to try and steal it. I'm still using under the bed, and cloest. However at my old house when I lived with my brother, "real steel collector" he built a custom gun safe.

You might think about getting a display cabinet, cheaper than a gun safe, safer than a wall rack. Something like a china cabinet or hutch, suitable for storing your AEG's vertically or horizontally.
Seek the Narrow Gate, for the path is broad and the gate is wide that leads to destruction.

I store mine locked up in safe, but sometimes in just a padlocked in a riflecase up high in my closet.

Security is not my biggest concern here....

EDIT: Better take this down. Too much attention can't be good.

I kinda faced a storage problem of my own with aegs. 1st I decided I hated the cardboard box so I bought some gun suitcases for travel, and a gun case for in-home storage. However, I decided I would rather store my real rifles in the case. So I just put my aegs in the combolocked suitcases and put them under the bed. This system really sucked because I had to remove all the accesories from my guns in order to place them in the cases. I recently decided to convert part of my closet into a rifle case for my aegs. I have individual rifle slots for all my rifles and a locking glass door installed to keep unwanted hands off. Works great!

Neo- I've got 7 AEG's with one of those being an M60. Aside from Airsoft, I'm into a bunch of other hobbies and has left my "walk-in" closet packed with clothes and other hobby equipment. Plus I wouldn't be able to stack AEG's so neatly as my AEG's no longer fit into their respective boxes due to external gadgets. Gun cases just too long and bulky..... Thus my search for a new way to store guns as I'm sure more AEG's are coming :D
Uh, ok, dude. How many guns do you have? I've got 13 AEG, one old XM177E2 replica, and 5 pistols stored in my closet alone. All my other pistols are stored in another cabinet...
If you're going to store them like that, you might want to look into putting barrel plugs on all of them. I'm kinda anal about my guns and I don't like dust building up in the barrel. (Yeah, I'm one of those guys that cleans every single one of my guns after every game.)
