i have a tm m14 which i am sadly trying to get rid of, it is the most sturdy gun i have held. it has great weight and it is upgraded to 390 with .2 and is very accurate. i use it as a semi auto sniper and i am able to get several kills with ease (of course with the proper use of the rifle) the hop up has a great adjustment and the gun s easy to disassemble. i need money though and i am sorry to leave it.
The AK47 will be amazing out of the box and will never die. Same goes for the M14 but personally that gun is too big, but its all preference. Stick with TM. If you are deadset on a CA M14 I would wait a while until they produce a second gen model. First gen CA stuff scares me but recently they have become better.

they are right the m14 is a big rifle and is heavy to carry around and it does come down to personal preference. whether you want a big and heavy gun or an ak for its unique look. ak's are great right out of the box but tm does produce quality internals. as does ca. im not trying to get into a ca vs. tm war either. lol

TM m14 has the v7 gear box, one of the best and most efficent gear boxs deisgns to date. With the stock FPS being around 290 the range is AMAZING. Those guns are some of the best. If the size is an issues yo can always get their m14 scout version. Its the SOC 16, a few inches shorter and i think a much more attractive looking gun. The AK too is also GREAT. I have one and love it. Andrew has one, Johny HAD several and now has an inukatuas. Pretty much everyone on here who has played alot has or had one.
there are a lot of upgrades in it i dont remember exactly all of them but i use .25 because it shoots them even more accuratly. and what do you mean wait for 10 months lol
both are good guns, depends where and how you play

Exactly if you are looking for that sniper look then the m14 but if you think the ak would better suit your tactics then go for that. they are both great starting guns.

idk if you were there but i was at the last nam game last sunday i think it was. i was wearing full bdu's and ski mask. i am about 5'7 and 15. i like the weight and i think that it has a good realism. i weighted mine and it was 12 pounds with no mag just gun and battery and the ras on it.

i dont like flimsy and cheap feeling guns which i was a little worried about with the m14 (the ones at aex seem a little flimsy) but mine and im sure everyone elses that has some use to it begins to get that real feeling to it. i like it but thats just my opinion.

suppishmister's m14 is upgraded with (IIRC and assuming he has not changed out any parts since he acquired the gun from me:
