Trouble deciding on stuff..

Jul 21, 2007 2:22am
I'm still trying to find a good choice for my first expensive (for me at least) gun, my others were UTG and after my first nam game I could definetly see that despite those being cheap they weren't cut for the job. So I began looking at airsoft extreme and came across this.

Ok so both the upgrades do what the numbers say for FPS, they just happen to both cost 50$ ...alrighty then thats what I was looking for :D
Jul 21, 2007 2:44am
yea Last I checked a basic upgrade was $50 for most guns. That is for a bushing set and a spring most likely a PPA 100 or a SP100. I am not sure what AEX is useing as far a springs right now.

fps is mostly determined by the spring in those upgrades. The 330 fps spring cost the same as a 400 fps spring. AEGs are nothing more than electric springers. But dont think FPS=Range. Thats a HUGE myth. I have seen well tuned 300 fps AEGS out range 400 fps AEGS. Hell my old AUG has a CA spring so it was shooting 330 fps and it was out ranging my 400 fps m4. Range it decided by BB's, barrel, hop unit.

The pricing is based on time and material.

TMs are great guns ( though I own a CA, which is still a great gun despire what people say {Flame me out in PM if your really a Brand-loyal-whore :P). Many options in terms of external and internal upgrades and just about everyone runs a M4 or AK, so You can acutaly save cash and get a better gun by going the used route ( suggest doing it on this forum, as you'll end up meeting the people who used to own the weapon). Just remember, FPS doesn't always mean increased Range. 350 (in my opinion ) is the best mix of range and....well...FPS...

i have a stock G&G M16-A2 thats for sale for 200 if you are interested

Thanks for all the ideas on AK's and Colts and such but I'm currently looking at a sniper type weapon, believe me I've used an AK before and I did like it but the feeling of not having a scope really throws me off. For now I've planned on getting it tomarrow noon and I'll get the FPS upgrade some other time if I feel its necessary, thanks for all the feedback and the stuff about the springs, it really helped me out a lot.

Yeah I did a lot of talking with poison at around 4 this morning and he told me what I needed to know, I am going for a TM now that I understand the ramifications of getting a CA >.>
Jul 21, 2007 9:11pm
For all you CA junkies out there: I did not Bash CA to this new guy, I just simply told him getting a G36 made by TM would get him much better results/reliability.
Jul 21, 2007 11:07pm
Yeah I just bought it today at about 1, definetly liking the feel to it too, now I just need to work up money for the FPS upgrade and possibly some other goodies. Thanks again for everything.
