Is it possible to thread a metal GBB barrel yourself, instead of buying a whole new outer barrel?

could u just use a metal tap set?

Umm, here's my take on the threaded barrel situation. rap1171 has a good point from what I've seen stock barrel won't work even if you thread it. Onto threading a piece of metal, if your barrel sticks out enough to thread there are a variety of ways too thread it, including a lathe. Using a die is also possible (think like a tap but inside out).

yea but its gonna be cheaper and easier to buy an aftermarket barrel

Ryan is right on this unless you have something like an M93r.

if u have a good chuck for the lathe it would be fine. I have threaded harder. Just make sure 1 the metal is good so it doesnt shatter on you and two that the chuck isnt to tight or else u f uck up the round and then well your SOL.
