improved bucking...

Jul 29, 2007 5:02am
well i was digging through my old forum i use to use when i was into R/C rock crawling and realized something. We use to use simple green on the tires to make them "tacky" before comps and i was thinking if you could use it on a stock TM bucking if it would work better? Im thinking less downforce will produce greater distance and FPS? I'll try this out and report back. First off to the store for some simple green.

HMM it might cause a jam I would think. What the hell try it.

Whats wrong with a stock TM bucking?

im not to sure to be honest with you. i just think it would be able to put more spin with less of the bucking coming into contact with the bb kind of like the guarder is suppose to be softer... clear that is.

the idea of using simple green on the tires is to improve traction. An increase of traction = increase in drag. More drag means lower velocity. Somehow I don't see it working but then again I'm not Einstein.

well think. more drag yes if you had the bucking down as far as it was without the additive, but with it being able to grab the BB better you would need less down force therefor less drag?

I think the super stickyness would make it awefuly sensitive and hard to dial in, but that's just a hypothesis.

I don't think the issue is less down force as much as it is more surface area. That's the reason why the v-hop and the firefly are so effective because they spread out the surface area.

wouldnt it just make the bucking weaker and more prone to breaking faster?

well ill just try it. ill let it soak over night and then let it dry and try it i guess.

wd-40 killed the tires because it's petroleum based. And petroleum and rubber do not mix.

"monkey piss" additive makes me think of some other man made additive that's quite sticky

It follows the same principal of large surface area as
more surface area...spread out the surface area.
like when I had to redo the bucking on my Kokusai:
