Parents protest military statue
This is bull. SO, I'm posting it. 8)
People just amaze me more and more.
"The people who have never served in the armed forces are always the ones who speak the loudest against what the armed forces have done."
"I only regret that I have but one life to give for my country."
[sarcasm]Let's get rid of all War-related statues and memorials. Their purpose in being built was to glorify violence. [/sarcasm]
Gun control is not Crime control.
It's amazing how the individuals that help prevent horrendous events like columbine come under the gun... sh*t like this never fails to amaze me...

I'd say it doesn't glorify violence but selfless service, and personal courage which are things all children should have a little more of instead of crying that they didn't get the same things as little johnny accross the street.

Yes, that is Ackbar. Yes, it does mean what you think.
I think that placing that statue near a school is a GOOD idea. It shows kids what is happening in the world today and also makes them realize that people are dying to save their spoiled butts
Funny Theatre Quotes:
i personally couldn't care less if they put up a statue of a soldier. If parents are upset because it "promotes violence" they probably have their head up their ass. If they don't want it put up because they do not support the war, thats enough ground for their objection. How i see it, it would be like putting up a statue of jesus, or some other religious symbol next to a school. Lot sof people don't believe in jesus. Lots of people don't believe in the war. (i am not a practising christian, it was just an example. Please substitute jeus for Buddha, Shiva, or muhammad if you feel it is nessicary.)
paintballer :(
Lotsa kids are still poorly informed about the facts surrounding the 9/11 attack

If you give to a charity please think of giving to one of these two charities. The Naval Special Warfare Foundation or Navy SEAL Warrior Fund.

I wonder if the people that talk trash about the President of the Unitied States. (no mater who the President is at the time.) Would ever truelly have the nerve to actually try to run for the job?

my rebuttle to anyone who thinks 9/11 was planned by the government is this: how did a government plan, execute, and hide a conspiracy that would have to involve the FBI, TSA, FAA, NYFD, the Port Authority, the Pentagon, and a handfull of other agencies without any of the underlings, who would have had to be in on it to not disclose any of the evidence, leaking anything before or after with any hard evidence beyond speculation. Let alone President Bush planned and got everyone on board and in line in 8 months.
OK we're going to stop this thread jacking of political puppetry now (and after I just deleted about 15 lines that don't need to pollute this)
