You're in Texas, my little Brother is stationed at FT. Hood. He got himself a SW M-4. My advise, get something that will maintain its usefulness when you move back to Cali. If you get a submachine gun in semi, you will probably get some funny looks from people at your local shooting range and you will also draw attention to yourself if any law enforcement happen to come by. So it may just become an expensive paper weight. So get something that you will be able to bring to the range. A Rem 700 is a wonderful gun, but you can get one here so.... maybe an M1A or a HK91, I have seen plenty of those at the range that I go to and nobody really says anything, its the AK type weapons people usually cry about. Oh and stock up on Hi Cap mags for your Glock before you come back.

Right there buddy, its really terrible to suggest getting a couple hicaps, but not a PPSH 41 submachine gun or a suppressed uzi, makes sense to me. For the 10/22 get a bull barrel, they are pretty inexpensive and install in no time at all, I have one on mine and its really accurate.

You can pretty much build a really nice 10/22. Take out the receiver from the base 10/22, dump the old barrel. Install one of these barrels http://www.brownells.com/aspx/ns/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=13868&title=10%2f22%7e+%26+77%2f22%7e+DROP-IN+TARGET+BARREL or something like that. Put a lower reciever like this http://www.brownells.com/aspx/ns/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=8736&title=RUGER%7e+MUZZLELITE+BULLPUP+STOCKS , add an eotech and you should be set.

A list of Taurus firearms are there. DOJ's online list is just buggy. One may have to call in order to find out whats on there.
