Anyone playing the PC version of Bioshock? If you are what are the specs of your computer and are you having any problems running the game? I seem to be having a problem running it.

It's your system. Not BioShock.
Gun control is not Crime control.

Try just dropping the memory in your old one to start. Might be enough to have you satisfied with the settings you can run, and the thing will be much more useful for whatever it ends up being used for once you do build a new PC.

Well, my system is a budget-thing I did last fall. Built it cheap and fairly flexible. Love my CoolerMaster case.

Just keep i mind that just because a card is newer doesn't mean its better. Then a previous generation (besides the DX lvl it supports). An 8500 is still a midrange card, and the only midrange card's i would suggest to someone doing a little gaming would be a 7600 or 8600, but if you want to turn settings up at all you need high end card, like 7900 or 8800. More ram on a slower card wont beat a faster card with less ram. IE 8800gts (320mb)>7600512, 7900512, 8600512. And a 7900 w/256 > 7600512, you get the picture.

I guess my wife's system is the culprit. Since I am running a Mac I can't try the game on my system.

The game is working fine now. Installed the ram and the video card. Can play it with everything maxed out. Thanks for everyone's input.

You don't need a quad-core for gaming unless there's some kind of intensive multi-threaded game coming out. The only game I believe is multi-threaded is Crysis but even then, pretty much any dual-core will be able able to run it.

Supreme Commander is currently one of the few games that can use every bit of juice your computer has no matter how much power you have.

XpoisonfreeX how do you like the 8600 graphics card? Have you had a chance to try the World in Conflict demo to see how your card handles it? I am torn between the 8800 GTS in 320MB or getting a cheaper card in the short run to see if prices will go down on the 8800 series.

I haven't done any benchmarking on this card, I work so much I do all my gaming on my laptop haha.

Not good I was hoping to get by with a 8xxx series card like the 8600/8500 until Nvidia's announcement in November. Johny did you have to drop the resolution to low to make the game playable? And what is your screen resolution when you are playing MOH: Airborne?
