A friend of mine is having issues with his TM g36. I was wondering if you could help me diagnose it.

somethings locked. It needs to be opened. Or the motor is off but i dont think so...They dont usually back off that fast or engage to tight that fast.
shaun's (my roommate's) g36 has done this once in a while. it's usually a problem with the selector switch. toggling it up and down and few types did the trick, but your problem could be different. just an idea.
again no any electrical problem will usually result nothing happening (no flow of electricity) or in full auto (contacts stuck in to allow flow of electricity)

this reminds me of when my piston spring got hung up after 100 rounds of use with my sl9
