What new gun is needed
If any new type of airsoft gun is added to the market which kind needs a new gun? This is apply only to AEGs as I have discovered a metal molder who could create a custom metal body for an AEG.
Asking what model gun would be a MUCH better qustion. Most airsoft guns can be made into any platofrm you want.

Japan has had a GBB M14 for years.

SciFi based or any game based body kit would most likely sell. You're better off making airsoft compatible furniture/stocks/grips etc.

even though its not a gun, Im going with a airsoft cruise missile
What I'm saying is that I would create a custom metal body for a gun nobody has seen before, not an already existing weapon. I just want to know what the airsoft community would embrace and what they would sigh at.
AN-94 or a PPSH. Whats your beef with minis Andrew?
Function uber allez! Since you're proposing one that's never been made yet (real steel), do everything for durability perfomance and cool useful functionality. Such as: battery charge indicator, mag remaining capactiy, auto range finder, fps readout, adjustable spring (velocity control), modularity: ez take down, multiple length barrels, multiple "skins" (i.e. woodland, desert, urban/cqb, etc.)

Which gun to buy. The easiest answer is this.
If you give to a charity please think of giving to one of these two charities. The Naval Special Warfare Foundation or Navy SEAL Warrior Fund.
he's not asking a question as to what gun to buy. But rather which gun to make he's got a custom mold maker.

I was thinking this if I modeled it after a real gun
