TM going bye bye?
Read on another forum that TM was phasing out it's airsoft division due to competition from chiman AEG's. Is there any truth to this? Didn't hear anything specific about when it was supposed to happen, but news like that needs verifying. Any help about where I might check this out would be helpful. Thanks.

Which forum did you get the it from? Possibly a link to the article or something?
this is actually kinda old news. tm hasn't announced anything official but people who have industry connections in japan mostly agree this is the case. i know that sniperx from escort talk about this over at classicairsoft.

A toy company making other toys what a shocker!!
Pygmy Militia Group
It's kind of the nature of the free market. First a brand new technology arrives and the designer makes a ton of money on sales of the product and licensing of the technology to other mfgrs. Then the knock-offs arrive as soon as they legally and practically can, and undercut the original mfgrs.

Why is TM phasing out of all its airsoft guns? Why not just the AEG's? Their GBB's aren't facing much Taiwanese competition.
I can't make a blanket statement about TM's total airsoft production lines. The news I heard just seemed to refer to their whole involvement with airsoft products.

so does this meen that soon CA will be the leading airsoft distributer?

Not knowing the industry from the inside or even as a long time interested observer, who does First Factory represent? Are they a large distributor of several airsoft manufacturers? If so, were their own projections of the airsoft market too aggressive, and therefore caused an over-supply in the short term?

i think first factory is a shop or chain of shops that are apparently huge in japan. Not sure if they're a wholesale distributor but they might be?

depends how you define near. i would count on them staying around for at least another couple years. they are still planning releases (aep m9, mac10, gbb FiveseveN, detonics .45 etc) and it'll take awhile for those things to come out.
